  • ASBMR Members Met with 96 U.S. Congressional Offices to Support Research and Patient Care during the 2022 Virtual Hill Day

Earlier this week, US-based members and patient advocates participated in this year’s ASBMR Virtual Capitol Hill Day to advocate for continued investment in biomedical research and preventative osteoporosis care. Over the course of two days, member volunteers virtually connected with their elected members of Congress and their staffs to urge them to increase federal funding to the NIH by $5.1 billion for FY2023 and co-sponsor H.R. 3517/S. 1943 - legislation that would increase the Medicare reimbursement rate for office-based dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).  A total of 57 advocates representing 25 states and 51 congressional districts participated in 96 virtual meetings. Thank you to all our members that volunteered their time to make another Virtual Capitol Hill Day a rousing success!
